About

Ramakrishnan (Ram) Durairajan is an Associate Professor in the School of Computer and Data Sciences at the University of Oregon, Chief Scientist at Link Oregon, and co-director of the Oregon Networking Research Group. His research develops measurement, systems, and AI techniques for making networked infrastructure more observable, explainable, and resilient.

His research program has moved from physical Internet measurement and infrastructure mapping to programmable systems for telemetry, defense, and resilience, and now toward AI-assisted network operations that can help explain network behavior rather than merely observe it. This trajectory also extends to emerging satellite and quantum-classical infrastructure, where visibility, control, and failure modes are still being defined.

Ram's work has appeared at leading venues including ACM SIGCOMM, USENIX NSDI, ACM IMC, ACM SIGKDD, and ACM CoNEXT, and has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the Internet Society Foundation, industry, and the University of Oregon. His research on physical Internet infrastructure has also reached beyond the academic community, including use in policy and operational settings. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER and CRII awards and other research recognitions. Ram received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his B.Tech. in Information Technology from the College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University.
