Camarasaurus in the sandbox (CEUM 1718)

With kind permission from Don Burge, I climbed into the exhibit sandbox and placed this entire cervical series into approximately neutral position at the centra and zygapophyses, and found that the neck assumed a very smooth curve, gently drooping towards the head, but very straight at the base of the neck. Recent restoration of this series indicates that cervicals C1-C4 are casts, and that C9 is a cast of C8, and that C12 is a cast of C11.
