Dr. Hornof welcomes exceptional and highly-motivated
undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs to his lab.

Anthony’s research program is alive and well, and he is eager to welcome new exceptional and highly-motivated undergraduate students, graduate students, and post docs to join the University of Oregon Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory, and to guide them on how to conduct creative and rigorous scientific research. Unfortunately, he recieves too many emails from students requesting information on such opportunities to respond to them all, but would like to provide the following assistance:

  • If you are interested in pursuing a Master's Degree or Ph.D. with Anthony, please formally apply to the Computer Science degree program at the University of Oregon. Write an outstanding Statement of Purpose that carefully and thoughtfully responds to the questions that the application materials ask you to answer with your Statement of Purpose. If this essay is well-written and explains your interest in working with Anthony, he will carefully read and consider your application.
  • Undergraduate and graduate students who are currently at the University of Oregon and are interested in conducting research should enroll in and perform exceptionally well in Anthony's CIS 443/543 User Interfaces class, and then email Anthony expressing interest in working with him.
  • If you are interested in pursuing a post doc with Anthony, please email him a one-page summary explaining what you would hope to accomplish in this position.
