All hikes posses a work-to-reward ratio. The work is usually a long mountain climb, and the reward is usually a sublime summit vista. The Mount Pilchuck trail offers a huge reward for not much work. Although the trail contains a non-trivial climb, the summit overlooks an incredible amount of Pacific Northwest real estate. Pilchuck's abandoned fire lookout view Glacier Peak, Mount Rainier, Mount Baker, and the Olympic National Park.
