Objective :
Tools for Parallel Languages, Instrumentation for Parallel Frameworks.
Skills :
Instrumentation, Performance Profiling, C++, UNIX, Message Passing Interface,
High Performance C++, Tracing, Replay, Runtime Systems (Nexus, Tulip),
Tools for Parallel Languages.
Experience :
Developed the TAU Performance Profiling Package for C++. Developed the
API for instrumentation of parallel applications. It uses SGI performance
counters and supports templates in C++. Developed for ASCI Blue Mountain
(SGI Origin 2000s) it provides a low overhead performance profiling layer.
Profiled LANL frameworks such as POOMA (Parallel Object Oriented Methods
and Applications), ACLMPL (Message Passing Library), ACLVIS (Visualization
Frameworks), A++/P++ (Array libraries), PAWS (Parallel Application Workspace),
Tecolote (Conejo ASCI code), MC++ etc.
Interests : Performance Profiling, Object Based Profiling, Profiling
multithreaded applications in the presence of Optimization, Dynamic Instrumentation.

Developed the TAU Tracing system for POOMA to visualize traces with Vampir trace visualization tool.
Designed and Implemented Deterministic Replay for Tulip Runtime System used in pC++ and HPC++ languages. Integrated an event based debugger with a state based debugger. Designed a performance profiling system for High Performance C++ in the TAU tools environment. Worked as the project leader for the TAU project.
Worked as a teaching assistant for the Operating Systems course taught at UO and taught the Nachos OS simulator.
Developed tools and system software for U6000-PARAM, a parallel machine built at Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC, India). Developed a resource manager, a network based image processing package, a graphics package and a simulator for the Concurrent Runtime Environment under UNIX. Worked in the R&D group of the company and worked on the joint collaboration project with C-DAC.
Worked on a circuit simulator package that used a sparse conjugate gradient linear equation solver.
