for my new homepage :-)
I enjoy living in Oregon/ USA
(pictures),
whereas originally, I am from
Karlsruhe/
Germany.
I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science at the
University of Oregon.
Since fall 1998, I am Assistant Professor of Computer Science at
Lewis & Clark College.
My Teaching
In spring '98, I help teaching
CIS 429 Computer Architecture and
CIS 451/551 Database Processing.
Previous teaching assignment include CIS 610 Topics in Parallel and
Distributed Computing (winter '98) and
CIS 415 Operating Systems (fall '97).
I was the instructor for CIS 199 UNIX in fall '96 and
summer term '97 and the instructor for CIS 199 Introduction to "C" in
spring term '97.
My Research

Publications and details about my research in "parallel I/O and resource management in parallel and distributed systems" can be found
here.
I am a member of the
Resource Allocation research group of my advisor Virginia Lo.
Previously, I was in the
Paraducks research group (
pC++/Sage++ ).
In general, my areas of interest include:
- operating systems & architecture
especially resource management in parallel & distributed systems
e.g. parallel I/O,
processor allocation,
scheduling,
mapping
- computer networks and telecommunication
e.g. routing, multicast, ATM, recovery
- AI & decision science
e.g. neural networks, constraint satisfaction, operations research
- computer graphics, user interfaces & cognitive science
