Download Smultron for Mac OS X 10.5 from MacUpdate. NOTE: on the MacUpdate Smultron page, scroll down to Related Links and click Download Smultron 3.5.1 for Mac OS X 10.5 (free).

Download Smultron v3.5 for OS X 10.4 from Softronics.

TextPad Editor Text Editor for Windows: TextPad.

TextPad is a text editor similar to WordPad, but with enhanced programming/Web development features.

The UO is site-licensed for TextPad.

  1. Download TextPad from it.uoregon.edu/software/list.
  2. Uncompress the downloaded file (TextPad.zip), and run the installer (.exe).
  3. Drag TExtPad License.txt onto your desktop.
  4. Start TextPad, and open TextPad License.txt.
  5. Follow the instructions to enter the UO license code for your copy of TextPad. (The instructions are also available here.)

If you do not Enter the License Code in TextPad, your downloaded version will terminate after 45 days, plus you will be constantly prompted to purchase TextPad.

    Secure File Transfer (SFTP) Client: Cyberduck.

Cyberduck is a free, open source SFTP, Google Docs and Amazon S3 browser for the Mac.
