Summer '94

We celebrated Jan Arne's and Sastry's graduation

Fall '94

I did some hiking with Honza
(here, I am on the way down Middle Sister)

I visited Giora in New England

Summer '95

I broke five ribs
(nothing to show a picture of)
but it allowed me to enjoy
also the other teenager

Fall '95

I went to conference in High Tatras
(check out this picture with Honza)

Winter '96

Courtney and Galen joined our family

Fall '96

I visited with Jan Arne in Bergen
Maciek came to Eugene for the year
Maxine's work found recognition in the local media
in a featured story
you can check other pictures ( one two three) from the article

Winter '97

We have moved to
81 W. 23rd Ave., Eugene, OR 97405
(same phone number but remember new area code)
(541) 343 7554

Spring '97

Giora went on his "junior year sabbatical quarter in Asia" trip.
(watch this space)
Yael graduated from South Eugene HS., International High School,
Oregon Children's Choir, Liz's "Sew Happy Studio"
and the French Immersion Mutual Admiration Club.
(here is the famous purple balloons picture)

Fall '97

Before the start of the quarter, I captained a load of grads through Marten rapids
(for more of the McKenzie River fun see other pics)

I finally listened to
one of Maxine's talks on poverty in Eugene
(just an unauthorized outline, mind you)

Spring '98

After almost 30 years, I reconnected with a longtime friend:
The two Andrzejs in Eugene, May 1998 (here's in B/W)
That obviously called for a trip down the memory lane.
(but not this far, courtesy AWK, center)

Andrzej also took some digital snapshots of
Maxine and me,
"the girls",
rhododendrons in our backyard,
me with Galen
and at the piano.

Despite his Asian adventure (see above),
Giora graduated Magna cum Laude from Amherst College

Fall '98

While I was slaving in Scandinavia
(here are some pictures,)
Giora had fun in the Pacific
(here is Giora and friend (friend on the left) above the surface.)

Winter '99

Summer '99

I missed Spotkanie 2^5 (cf. memories above)
and later went to SIROCCO'99,
where Francesc snapped some (digital) pictures:
the participants,
on the beach,
at the table (with Dominique and André),
on a bike ride (with Francesc and Sergio).
Later, back in Oregon, I did some other outdoorsy things, including

hanging out at Cultus Lake with Maxine and Galen
climbing the highest Czech mountain with Honza
and rafting with family and friends
(here are before and after pictures, too.)
Then Court left for college in a teary farewell.

(Late addition) Friends throughout the years finally visited Eugene.

Fall '99

Court seems to be enjoying the social life at Haverford.
Beautiful weather allowed me
to climb Diamond Peak (8,744 ft.)
with Gary and Honza who
brought us from Prague hiking implements
which I and Gary used on the descent.
some more views from the peak:
Summit Lake
on the way up with Gary
on the top with Honza
back to the false summit
lunch spot

More hikes in the foothills.
